Drill Stocks

A steel arbor fitted with a ferrule, a male center at one end and a drill holder at the other. Available in various sizes, it is rotated for drilling by a bow. Some drill stocks have a simple tapered box or screw-nose drill box or chuck; others have a plain round hole for the drill with a hole in the side of the stock and screw-set collar to clamp the drill in position. In use a drill stock is supported in a frame, or operated like a drill arbor.
